The Recrutement Santé Québec website has been set up in French, since the health and social services professionals need to know how to speak French to practice their profession in Québec. The majority of jobs are regulated by the professional orders and these require a successful completion of the exam administrated by the Office Québécois de la langue française (OQLF) within 4 years of the date of inscription with your relevant professional order, if French is not your first language. Since Québec is a French-speaking province, mastering French helps you to integrate and communicate effectively in your everyday life and on a professional level.
If French is not your first language, we suggest consulting the following websites in order to:
- Evaluate your level of knowledge of French :Evaluate your level of knowledge of French
- Take a francization course online from the Ministère de l’immigration, de l’inclusion et de la diversité services (MIDI) (consult the requirements for registration)
- Familiarize yourself with the medical terminology :Familiarize yourself with the medical terminology
To improve or enrich your knowledge of the French language, we recommend you enroll in a recognized French educational institution in your country.
Once in Québec, we recommend that you register in a French as a second language course, which is part of the francization services by MIDI or by its partners. The following document provides a list of complementary courses by regions.
